Will highlighter come out of my hair?

I put highlighter in my hair. The kind you use to mark text and things like that. My hair was recently highlighted with a very light blonde and the highlighter sticks to it. Is it permanent or damaging to my hair? Will it ever come out?

  1. Hair that has been chemically processed to be blonde is more porous, so some things will “stain” the hair and not come out very easily. Try using a clarifying shampoo if it doesn’t wash out as quickly as you’d like. And it doesn’t “block” the “pores”… Drawing on your scalp with marker won’t prevent hair growth.

  2. my friend who has naturally platinum blond hair sharpies her hair ALL THE TIME, and sharpies are permanent markers. but it always washes out for her, sometimes it takes 2 or 3 washes for her. =)

no, it doesn’t damage your hair at all, if you have it close to your scalp though, it could block the pores your hair grows out of which would make it grow a little slower for a couple days, but that’s almost nothing.

  3. Lol of course it will come out…
