* noun: a spontaneous loss of consciousness caused by insufficient blood to the brain
* verb: pass out from weakness, physical or emotional distress due to a loss of blood supply to the brain

“swoon” means to faint or to feel faint/overcome – it’s a favourite of bad romantic novelists (She swooned when his dark manly eyes turned her way). It’s gone from that to mean a slightly self-mocking “I was impressed”
