How do you say “My name is…” in Irish?

Again, using my Irish Language Learning program it has told me a way to say “My name is…” but i still think there is more than one way, because when i was watching a video of people speaking irish they said a phrase and then their name. The way I was taught was “…is ainm dom.” So I would literally be saying “Ryan is my name”. How many different ways can you introduce yourself by telling your name and what are they?

  1. Generally you’d just say “Is mise Ryan” (I’m Ryan)

If someone is asking you your name-

    Cad is ainm duit?

    Ryan is ainm dom

    Cén t-ainm ata ort?

    Ryan atá orm

  3. It does strangely sound like Meth-head…which kind of sucks to name a kid that, even if it is traditionally Irish. I know many Irish names, and I’ve been looking through a bunch of them, because my boyfriend has an Irish background, and I’ve never come across any sort of name with this pronunciation. I think it’s just an excuse from the mother who didn’t realize she named her daughter meth-head. But it does also sound like Method…But then again, it could be some REALLY obscure old Irish name or something. Never seen that pronunciation anywhere though.
