How can I find out who the anonymous users are on Ask.fm?

Recently, my friend has been receiving abusive messages on ask.fm from anonymous users – really unpleasant stuff. She’s getting called all the names under the Sun and she’s being taunted about the recent death of her mother. I just think it’s appalling, she’s absolutely heart broken about her mum and these messages are pushing her over the edge.

She’s confided in me about her feeling suicidal because she’s just so miserable. She has attempted self harm once before, so i don’t want this abuse to make her feel that the only way to be left alone is to end her life. I don’t understand how some people could be so cruel. I mean, obviously the abuse is coming from someone who knows her or her family because how else would they be aware of her death?

I was wondering if there’s any way to find out the identity of the anonymous users. I know that the whole point of the site allowing you to be anonymous is to protect your identity, but maybe someone out there has found a way around this.

I’d be very grateful for any information anyone can give me on this, I just want to find out who is making her so miserable and abusing her on the website, so something can be done about it.

  1. There will not be any way, same as it’s not possible to find out the identity of a user here on Y! Answers.

Unfortunately it’s not the first time I’ve read such a thing about this site. There have been several high profile media cases about people using this side and being devasted due to abuse.

The only way to find out the identity is by due legal process which is very hard to intitate and prove unfortunatley “by law or a valid government request (including, but not limited to, search warrants, subpoenas or court orders). http://ask.fm/about/privacy

As a friend, collect the links with the abuse contained and send a message here http://ask.fm/about/privacy then get your friend to close the account.

Health and mental well being is far more important than participation on any website.

  3. Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at http://ask.fm/about/privacy

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you’re talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

  4. You can there is a app called ask.fm tracker just look up how to see who is the anonymous in ask.fm and then the first link should take you to youtube and then if you click the show more, to see the full description. Then you can download ask.fm tracker and find out where they live, there name, and pretty much anything so I hope this helped you.

  7. When the question is not answered in the question list (if it is press the “x” button on the answered question in your profile), highlight the “block” button (only on desktop), then right click and select “view selected source”, that should give you an IP address, you should be able to track an IP address on a simple website if you search it.

  8. Every option to do this contains viruses, the only way to stop anonymous messages is to turn it off in settings
