Can “wet willies” cause an ear infection?

Why or why not?

  1. If the perpetrator has an active infection and the bacteria is in the mouth or respiratory tract, it’s slightly possible for the victim to develop otitis externa. Possible but not likely.

  2. As well as conjunctivitis if saliva somehow gets into the eyes which is serious if not treated. The saliva from the persons tongue can also get into the inner ear and cause an inner ear infection.
