Question 1
Arrange the following elements in order of decreasing first ionization energy:
Bi, Cl, Sb, and Br.
Question 2
Arrange the following elements in order of decreasing ionization energy sulfur, carbon, zinc, iron, and calcium
Question 3

Answer to question 1
The order of decreasing ionization energies is as follows:
Cl > Br > Sb > Bi
The above order is obtained because Ionization energy decreases as we move down the group and it increases as we move along a period.
The Ionization energy decreases as we move down the group because the size increases and it becomes easier to remove the outermost electron. The increase in size can be attributed to the dominating effect of increase in the no. of shells over increase in the nuclear charge.
On the other hand , Ionization energy increases as we move along a period because the size decreases along a period. The decrease in size along a period can be attributed to the increase in nuclear charge.
Answer to question 2

Answer to question 3
Order of decreasing ionization energy–
In period ionization energy increase when moving forward and in group it will increase when moving upward. So correct order is—
F > N > Si > Ga > In
